“Informational Interviews” or meetings are intended to help you get expert advice and learn about the interviewee’s interests, industry, company, and career field.

Getting an appointment to interview someone can be as easy as making a telephone call as most of us are eager to “tell-our-story” to others.  A telephone or email script like this can work well:  “Hello, my name is [first name].  I got your name from [state the source].  I wonder if you would be open to an informational meeting of 20-30 minutes at a future time convenient to your schedule and location.  I am exploring your [career field, occupation, or industry] as a possible future career path.”
